Therapeutic Touch Dialogues
Dr. Dolores “Dee” Krieger
A Bit of Backstory….
What are Therapeutic Touch Dialogues?
Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a contemporary interpretation of several ancient, cross-cultural healing practices which continue to be effective in helping or healing those who are ill, wounded, in trauma, or in end-of-life transition. These healing experiences quicken the human spirit, facilitate a creative shift in consciousness, and elevate the idea of self. Enhancing transformation actualizes potential and moves us forward in our concept of who we can be.
Through the TTDialogues, we become deeply aware of the future-consciousness of the TT process and mindfully participate in its creation. In this context, future-consciousness is defined as becoming more percipient and informed about the evolutionary potential of the TT process.
About the Dialogues
A week-long international TTDialogues conference is convened once a year, usually in May, in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana.
Dialogue is a new means of communication about healing in our time. It is more concerned with the search for meaning than with simple sharing of opinion, lecture or discussion. The TTDialogues nurture discernment, compassion, spiritual drive, and the purposeful engagement of in-depth forces in this endeavor.
During the year, we also participate in continued exploratory studies and research in Therapeutic Touch. Additionally, we cooperate with organizations of mutual interests.
In the interest of our research intent, we are engaged in developing a universal theory of healing. And, in support of our clinical interests, we have conducted two exploratory studies: “Looking Over Your Shoulder during Therapeutic Touch Practice ~ A Study in Mindfulness” and “Healing-At-A-Distance”.
Dee Krieger convened the first Dialogues in 2010 in Northwest Montana. Therapeutic Touch Dialogues, Inc. was founded in 2011 by TT Therapists interested in an in-depth search for, and dialogue about, leading-edge theories and practices in Therapeutic Touch.
Dedicated Land - A Legacy of Stewardship
The Columbia Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary is land dedicated as a safe haven for wildlife, and includes Dr. Krieger’s former dwelling which she affectionately called “The Rockery”. The land and buildings passed to Therapeutic Touch Dialogues, Inc. upon Dee’s death in 2019 and the stewardship and healing practices established by her live on.
Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic Touch® is a holistic, evidence-based practice that incorporates the intentional and compassionate use of universal energy to promote balance and well-being.
Therapeutic Touch (TT) is based on the idea that human beings are energy in the form of a field. When you are healthy, that energy is freely flowing and balanced. In contrast, disease is a condition of energy imbalance or disorder. The human energy field extends beyond the level of the skin, and the Therapeutic Touch practitioner connects with that energy using the hands as sensors. TT Practitioners are conduits of energy – the Healing Partner does the work.
The Four Major Assumptions Underlying the TT Process
1. Healing is a natural human potential that can be actualized under appropriate circumstances.
2. The enactment of the Therapeutic touch healing process from the “within” of the Therapeutic Touch therapist is transpersonal.
3. In grave illness and trauma, a person’s destiny may delimit the possible effects of treatment with healing.
4. There are intangible networks of intelligent and dynamic forces that underlie normal human functions as they relate to the healing process.
