Northwest Therapeutic Touch Institute
A Satellite Chapter of TTIA
NWTTI was founded in 1998 by Neila Campbell, Bev Forster and Cordy Anderson and when Neila passed in 2002 Lin Bauer became the third Board Member. Bev, Lin and Cordy all are QTTTs.
The decision to create a non-profit institute had long been a dream of Neila’s, and was finally realized in 1998 with the help of generous donations from two supporters of Therapeutic Touch®. The Institute sponsors workshops annually, as well as several One Day Intensives. Members of NWTTI receive discounts on workshops and intensives and receive fall, winter and spring newsletters. NWTTI also offers scholarships for TT related events such as TT Workshops at Camp Indralaya.
Our mission is to continue to enhance and support the practice and study of Therapeutic Touch®, and to work towards providing Therapeutic Touch® to those who request it. Our website is http://nwtti.org/.

Camp Indralaya at Orcas Island
Indralaya – A Theosophical Center Committed to Community and Spiritual Development
Indralaya was founded in 1927 by members of the Theosophical Society as a practical experiment in applying theosophical living. These principles continue to form the basis of our philosophy, community life, and programs.
The name Indralaya is derived from Sanskrit and means “a home for the spiritual forces in nature”. In this unique environment, individuals and families are encouraged to live in cooperative harmony with nature and each other, experiencing the interconnectedness of all forms of life while exploring individual pathways to wholeness. its founding, a strong sense of community has been at the heart of Indralaya. Throughout the course of its 95 year history, many have volunteered time and assistance to the camp.
Therapeutic Touch Programs at Indralaya:
Foundations of Therapeutic Touch offered each June:
This introduction to TT is designed for anyone interested in learning/reviewing this holistic healing modality. Course provides a firm foundation in TT theory and practice.
Therapeutic Touch Mentorship offered each June:
In small groups, led by experienced TT mentors & teachers, participants work to deepen and expand their abilities. In addition, depending on the year, TT Courses are integrated and may include The Transpersonal Nature of Therapeutic Touch and/or Application of the Inner Processes of Therapeutic Touch. Program requirements are posted on the website.
A Path of Consciousness, Healing, & Service offered each June:
An invitational healing camp offering opportunities to delve more deeply into understanding how healing arises. We work with healing partners in clinical sessions, continue explorations of TT in cohort groups, and relax in the rejuvenating, nurturing environment that is Indralaya. Program requirements are posted on the website.
Healing Partners invited to TT programs in June:
Both weeks invite folks to be Healing Partners, that is people on a healing path. A supportive and educational group process and program is designed specifically for those attending which includes receiving Therapeutic Touch each day.
There are experienced TT Practitioners at both weeks of TT Camp.
Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center
Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center
Nestled amidst the Berkshire and Taconic Mountains, Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center covers 130 acres of open fields, lush forests, colorful flower beds, and an abundant vegetable garden nourished by the crystal clear Taconic Stream. The stream flows through the Hollow, past the campfire grove and swimming hole, the garden and the meditation center, then rushes over a waterfall and out through the base of a deep hemlock-lined gorge.
Pumpkin Hollow offers a unique setting for workshops, retreats, yoga and meditation. The central farmhouse, meditation center, meeting room and renovated cabins are surrounded by shady areas on our beautifully groomed grounds. Across the stream, a network of nature trails connects to the labyrinth, Healer’s sanctuary, peace prayer pole, meditation walk and campfire grove.
Therapeutic Touch Programs at Pumpkin Hollow
Taking a course in Therapeutic Touch at Pumpkin Hollow, the birthplace of TT, is unique. It is within this pristine natural setting that Dora Kunz and Dolores Krieger PhD, RN created the Therapeutic Touch process. Both Foundations of Therapeutic Touch and The Transpersonal Nature of Therapeutic Touch workshops are offered at Pumpkin Hollow in May. There is also a three-day TT workshop in July for practitioners of all levels.
